- Telephone Solicitation Relief Act of 2001, La. R.S. § 45:844.11 et seq., plus the Consumer Telemarketing Protection Act of 1991 and a caller-ID anti-spoofing statute.
- Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act for the pitch. AG-led on the state acts.
- No Florida-style private $500 mini-TCPA. The per-call private engine is the TCPA.
What changed: No 2026 mini-TCPA. Louisiana signed the multistate FCC letters. The variable that should scare callers is raw volume per capita in a mid-size state — more than a billion estimated robocalls before autumn.
Left on the table: 32,510 × $500 ≈ $16.3 million. × $1,500 ≈ $48.8 million. Against 1.6 billion estimated robocalls, that complaint floor is a rounding error. That is the money sitting on the table.
